This weekend saw two wins along with one rained off game, for Unsworth's senior teams. On Saturday the 1st team played a reduced game at Worsley, starting at 2pm. Seeking their first league win since mid June, Steven Judge & professional Harvey Hossien batted sensibly, putting on 108 in 21 overs. Harvey was out near end of inns for 59 & Steve Judge batted all the way through for 62 not out. 169-6 on a green wicket, with a slow outfield in 38 overs was a good score. In reply Leighton Friend ripped through oppositions batting taking 7 wickets for just 7 runs in bowler friendly conditions. Worlsey were bowled out for just 40 in 16 overs. A much needed win in convincing style.

The 2nd team never got on at home. The club would like to thank Tom & Irene Oldham nevertheless for their match ball sponsorship yet again. Sunday saw the 3rd team defeat local rivals Stand, after posting 141/7 in their 40 overs. Danny Creer with 41 top scored, and in reply Simon Hetherington ensured Unsworth always looked comfortably victors, taking 4 for 36.

Well done to all those who helped in club BBQ on the Saturday, the club's next main social event is Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday, its on noon to 5pm and FREE for all. Saturday sees first team at home to Stretford, hope to see you at both events!
