With two last minute cry offs and one no show on top of Marcus being away and Ben carrying an injury it was inevitable that we would lack the quality needed to rival our opponents riding high on the back of last weeks cup win .
Well done to the lads that did turn up though who played well enough throughout with a bare eleven , Ben valiantly carrying his injury and Joe W playing his first full game for quite some time .
In the first half we had a few efforts one from Rowie and a good move starting with Dev passing to Joe who found Bens feet who put in Lewis to just miss the target .
Hough Ends first goal was a good finish from the right edge curling the ball left foot into the left of the goal . Their second goal was less so with a speculative effort beating Mark from 22 yards out .

At half time we asked the lads to improve their defensive game by pushing up, as far too often we were too deep as a unit creating far too much room for their fast midfielders . This is definitely the defences next biggest learning curve having surpassed themselves this season with their improvement when on the ball .
In the second half Jack hit the bar with a wonderful free kick and came close with another effort .
Concentration was the key to their third goal with a Hough End player moving forward unmarked to give him the time to get a cross in to make it three .
Yet another ball into the six yard box resulted in the fourth and dead ball defending again is a key learning point in the summer .
As the lads tired they popped in with their fifth and final goal but well done to the lads for not giving up and for turning up no matter what !!
